Casement Windows - Specifications
Wood
We use a treated multi-layered wood to minimize swelling and warping. Our wood comes from FSC registered sustainable sources.
- Timber profiles of our casement windows are made from a selected multi-layer timber (pine - softwood and meranti - hardwood); swelling and warping is minimized.
Glass
- We use a well-known Saint Gobain Low-E glass. It can be clear, laminated, toughened, obscure, or with a mirror effect;
- A toughened/laminated glass is used where necessary to comply with the Building Regulations;
- The factory-fitted glazing units are filled with argon gas to prevent heat transfer;
- Wooden or metal glazing bars can be added to a window design;
- U value is 1.1 W/m2K.
Finish
Fantastic choice of finish colours, paint or varnish, and an aluminium clad option for an enduring performance
- Micro-porous coating protects wood from the weather influence and minimum maintenance is required. Our wooden casement windows are fully factory-finished, can be micro-porous painted in any 200 RAL palette colour or varnished (20 standard stains), or both (painted from one side and varnished from the other side);
- Aluminium clad casement windows provide a maximum weather-tightness performance and durability. Water condensation and heat transfer are minimized. Various powder coating options are available.
Operation and Ironmongery
Three options of fittings/operation are available. Click here to see a graphical presentation:
- Side Hung operation - a casement stay and fastener to empathetically preserve a traditional look;
- Side and Top Swing - a multi-point locking system with an optional lockable handle for an increased security;
- Side Hung - a multi-point locking system with a brake and an optional lockable handle.
- Ironmongery is available in brass, chrome or nickel.
- The windows provide an unrestricted exit point in the event of emergency.
Performance and Insulation
Designed to withstand harshest climates, save on fuel bills, and ensure robust safety
- Sound insulation factor is 34 Db
- Water resistance is under 650 Pa.
- The windows are draught-sealed with gaskets.
Sills and Trickle Vents
- Trickle vents can be fitted;
- An internal wooden window board and external wooden or aluminium sill can be fitted.
